Frequently Asked Questions

Why so many different strengths?

Why so many strengths? Each horse is different, so they will require different amounts to achieve the desired effect. 50 mg CBD is a good starting place for the average horse. As the strength gets higher, the hemp taste gets stronger. CBD is not like medications that go by weight of the animal. It goes more by what the desired outcome is. A horse with a mild joint condition will require much less ( we start at 50 mg) than a horse that is dealing with a more acute condition.

Why Pellets, Powder, Gummies and Chews?

Horses, like people have different tastes. The 50 mg pellets smells like alfalfa, and most horses will eat it without grain. The pure hemp powder is the strongest so for most horses you need to mix it with something tasty.  Half my horses will run me over for a gummy, and some don't like the texture. Through trial and error on our own horses, as well as many rescues and customer feed back,  we have developed these products to bring you a variety that every horse will enjoy, and every owner can afford.

What can CBD do for my horse?

I am very careful to follow the proper guidelines for labeling CBD for animals. Because of this I do not make claims related to diseases of any kind. There is a lot of information about CBD in horses and how it can affect them on the web. What I can tell you is that we make great CBD products. We are intentionally high quality, not an afterthought. We use whole plant hemp, and not used or "spent hemp", the left over byproduct of CBD extraction. If you have questions feel free to call, text or email me. I am happy to answer any question you may have about how CBD can help your horse.

What is the difference between full spectrum Hemp containing CBD and CBD Isolate?

A CBD isolate contains only CBD. A full spectrum will contain additional terpenes and cannabinoids, such as CBG and CBN. We sell both full spectrum and isolate CBD products. Both full spectrum hemp extract with CBD and CBD isolates have their own benefits, however there is much to be said about the Entourage Effect, which builds greater benefits when a full spectrum is used.

How much CBD should I use for my animals?

The answer to this question largely varies from animal to animal, and especially what you are trying to accomplish with your pet. We recommend starting with a low milligram amount and increasing if needed. Horses start at 50 mg per day (common) and can go up to 600 mg per day (rare). Horses weight is not as important in dosing as it is in dogs.

Is CBD safe for my pets?

CBD products are safe for animals. Pets are able to process cannabidiol in much the same way that humans do. Isolates contain 0% THC. Small amounts are present in all of our whole plant hemp products, but it will not get your pet "high".

Is CBD legal?

As long as CBD is derived from hemp and under 0.3% THC, it is federally legal to sell, purchase, and possess in all 50 states. CBD, or cannabidiol, and hemp oil are non-psychoactive and will not induce intoxication. The stigma surrounding CBD and hemp oil is diminishing, but this is still a common misunderstanding.

Does CBD Oil contain THC?

CBD Isolate does not contain any THC because it has been isolated through the distillation process. Full spectrum CBD oil contains less than .3%, and there will not be any psychoactive effects.
